Drug Peddler Arrested with 2.416 Kg Illegal Cannabis Worth ₹70,000 in Kaliyar Haridwar: Under the ongoing “Operation Prahar,”

KALIYAR / ,” Kaliyar Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 2.416 kilograms of illegal cannabis worth approximately ₹70,000 from his possession.
According to police officials, the arrest was made on June 1, 2026, during a checking operation near the Government School in Mukarrabpur area under Kotwali Kaliyar. The accused, identified as Muntiyaz (35), was allegedly involved in supplying cannabis in small quantities to drug addicts and people disguised as religious followers in the Kaliyar area.
Police said the accused worked as a labourer and had allegedly started trafficking narcotic substances to earn quick money. He reportedly procured cannabis from Roorkee and sold it at higher prices as per customer demand.
A case under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Kotwali Kaliyar Police Station. The accused is being produced before the court.
The arrested accused has been identified as Muntiyaz, son of Mohammad Tahir, a resident of Dharampur Sarovgi, Post Amboli, Deoband Police Station area in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. He was currently residing near the Government School in Mukarrabpur, Piran Kaliyar, Haridwar district.
