Illegal Blood Collection Racket Exposed Under the Guise of Blood Donation, Five Arrested Laksar

Haridwar Laksar: Laksar Police have exposed an alleged racket involved in illegally collecting blood under the guise of blood donation, a noble and humanitarian activity. Police have arrested five accused in connection with the case. A total of 27 units of blood, 27 empty blood bags, and equipment used for blood collection have been recovered from their possession.
According to police, the accused were organizing blood donation camps in rural and village areas without the necessary permissions and collecting blood from people. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the collected blood was allegedly being sold at high prices in other states.
On August 16, after receiving information, police teams from Sultanpur and Bhikkampur outposts conducted a checking operation at Alawalpur Tiraha. During the operation, two suspicious vehicles were searched. In an ice box kept in the boot of a Swift car, police recovered 27 units of blood and 27 empty blood bags.
From the second vehicle, police recovered four donor chairs, a donor form book, a weighing machine, blood-testing materials, 28 certificates of Amrit Charitable Blood Centre, and other equipment. Both vehicles have also been taken into police custody.
Police have arrested Anit Saini, Shubham Kumar, Dushyant Kumar, Kavendra Kumar and Daya Singh in connection with the case. All the accused are reportedly associated with Haridwar as well as Bijnor, Moradabad and Sambhal districts.
A case has been registered at Laksar Police Station and an investigation has been initiated. Police are now investigating how many camps the accused had organized so far and where the collected blood was being sent. Officials have said that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities under the guise of blood donation.
The police team involved in the operation comprised Laksar Police Station In-charge Inspector Praveen Singh Koshyari, Senior Sub-Inspector Nitin Chauhan, Sub-Inspectors Birendra Singh Negi and Yashveer Singh Negi, along with Constables Kishore Negi, Jagat Singh, Rajendra Bisht, Arvind Chauhan, Dhwajveer Singh and Digambar Singh.
