Haridwar Police’s Unique Gift During Sawan: 205 Lost Mobile Phones Worth Over ₹4.6 Million Returned to Their Owners; Citizens Thank ‘Mitra Police’

Haridwar: In a remarkable gesture during the holy month of Sawan, Haridwar Police brought smiles to hundreds of people by returning 205 lost mobile phones worth more than ₹4.6 million (₹46 lakh) to their rightful owners. Acting under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navneet Singh, Sidcul Police carried out the recovery drive under Operation Recovery.
During a special event held at Sidcul Police Station, SSP Navneet Singh, along with other police officials, handed over the recovered mobile phones to their owners. The recipients expressed immense joy and gratitude, praising Haridwar Police for their dedication, prompt action, and commitment to public service.
According to the police, the recovered phones belonged to both local residents and employees from various states working in industries located in the Sidcul area. The devices were traced and recovered from Uttarakhand as well as several other states with the help of technical surveillance.
SSP Navneet Singh said that in today’s digital age, a mobile phone has become an essential part of everyday life. Returning lost phones to their rightful owners is not just a duty for the police but also a way of restoring happiness and bringing smiles to people’s faces.
This marks the eighth major mobile recovery drive conducted by Sidcul Police in the last 11 months, reflecting a significant achievement. So far in 2026, the police station has recovered 475 lost mobile phones, making it one of the leading police stations in both the district and the state in terms of mobile phone recovery.
The successful operation was carried out by a dedicated team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Ajay Shah, Senior Sub-Inspector (SSI) Praveen Bisht, and Head Constable Vivek Yadav, whose efforts played a crucial role in the success of the campaign.
