Haridwar: Let us tell you that from July 14 to 26, the Kanwar Yatra is going to start. Kanwar is a very big religious event. Which is going to prove to be a big challenge for Uttarakhand government and police administration because Kanwar Yatra was banned for the last two years due to corona infection.
Due to which a large number of Shiva devotees are expected to come this time. The purpose of this meeting is to make the Kanwar Yatra successful and peaceful with the mutual cooperation of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal, Punjab, Rajasthan and other agencies. He expected the officials to start preparations for making police arrangements for the Kanwar Yatra from now on so that the devotees do not face any problem during the Kanwar Yatra.
Under the chairmanship of director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar, 17th inter-state and inter-unit coordination meeting was organized in the auditorium at Police Headquarters regarding the arrangements for Kanwar Yatra, in which Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Railway Protection Force, Intelligence Bureau officials participated directly and online.
This year the entire Kanwar area has been divided into 12 super zones, 31 zones and 133 sectors, in which about 9-10 thousand personnel will be involved in the police system. Use of drones, CCTV and social media monitoring will be increased for security arrangements. Along with this, an appeal will be made to the Shiva devotees through social media to cooperate with the police administration in completing the Kanwar Yatra peacefully.
It was told by the director General of Police, Ashok Kumar that the border states are expected to give wide publicity to the routes of Kanwar Yatra in their respective districts. Along with this, a separate route prepared for the passengers coming to Chardham/Mussoorie and Dehradun during the Kanwar Yatra, apart from Haridwar, should also be publicized.
Joint WhatsApp groups should be formed at the district, circle, police station and outpost level of the border districts to exchange incidents and instant information.
