Five miscreants caught under “Operation Lagaam”; video had gone viral, all arrested under Section 170 of BNS.

Haridwar / Under the special campaign “Operation Lagaam” being run on the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar, to prevent crime, arrest criminals, and maintain law and order in the district, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shyampur was actively monitoring the area. During this time, information was received that a fight had broken out between some youths at Aryan Hotel in village Kangdi.

Acting on the information, the Shyampur Police reached the location in Kangdi Bazaar and found five individuals who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and were engaged in fighting and abusing each other. Despite repeated efforts by the police and local citizens to calm them down, the accused became increasingly aggressive and continued their unruly behavior.

As the accused were disrupting the peace and there was a risk of a cognizable offense being committed, the police arrested the following five individuals on the spot after informing them of the charges:

1. Gaurav, son of Pappu, resident of village Kangdi, PS Shyampur, Haridwar, age 22

2. Shubham, son of Mr. Santish Singh, resident of Brahmapuri, Kotwali Nagar, Haridwar, age 22

3. Bobby, son of Chaman Lal, resident of Lodhamandi, Kotwali Jwalapur, Haridwar, age 21

4. Deepak, son of Satish Kumar, resident of Lodhamandi, Kotwali Jwalapur, Haridwar, age 24

5. Nitin, son of Jitendra Kashyap, resident of Brahmapuri, Kotwali Nagar, Haridwar, age 22

All were arrested on the spot and booked under Section 170 of BNS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita). After conducting medical examinations of the arrested individuals, they are being presented before the Hon’ble Magistrate.
