Haridwar: In Khanpur Forest Range, 04 children of Gujjars had consumed Panwad (poisonous plant) seeds, out of which 03 children died during treatment and treatment of one child is currently going on in Max Hospital Dehradun.

In view of the seriousness of the incident, SSP Mr. Ajai Singh immediately informed the Forest Department in this context and directed to destroy such poisonous plants at the police station level and make the affected families aware.
On this today, a joint campaign by the Buggawala Police and Bhagwanpur LIU Unit, around 30-40 bighas of Gujjars’ camps, the Panwad plants were cut and burnt at various places and the Gujjars and their children were informed about the Panwad plant. Information was given that do not allow Panwad plants to grow near the camps and keep your children away from Panwad plants so that such incidents do not happen in future.
