In the campaign against drugs and intoxication, the work of Haridwar District Police continues unabated at the same speed with which it was started. This campaign has been running in the entire state. The police system of every district is executing this operation very well. Be it Almora police , Nainital police or Dehradun police.
Now, in this kind of campaign, the means of intoxication like restaurants, hookah bars, hookah parlors and e-cigarettes are also not untouched. Haridwar Police has started its vision and concrete action in this direction as well. Keeping this in mind, on the instructions of SSP Ajai Singh in Haridwar district. Haridwar police team ran a campaign against hookah bars, hookah parlours, e-cigarettes, etc. make raids Along with taking legal action on finding irregularities, 15 challans were issued for smoking in public places under COTPA Act (Under the Tobacco Control Act (COTPA) 2003, action is taken on smoking in public places, openly selling tobacco related material. Under this, there is a provision of fine from Rs 200 to Rs 10,000 and imprisonment of up to 5 years.) and 04 challans were issued under 81 Police Act.
This is a good initiative in the interest of the society and to prevent the youth from going astray. With the law keeping an eye on these activities, it would be possible to a great extent to prevent the young generation from going astray.
