Sub-inspector arrested for taking bribe of 4 lakhs, dismissed from job.

New Delhi/Noida: Theft took place in the under-construction KMR Mall located in Ecotech-1 area of Greater Noida. Sub Inspector Gulab Singh Rajput was investigating this matter. It is reported that Gulab Singh has been arrested red-handed by the anti-corruption team while taking a bribe of Rs 4 lakh. The sub-inspector is accused of demanding a bribe of 14 lakhs from a retired Navy commander named in the mall theft case to remove his name from the FIR. While taking its first installment on Friday, he was arrested by the anti-corruption team from LG Gol Chakkar. Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh has immediately dismissed Sub Inspector Gulab Singh from his job and has started a departmental inquiry.
Inform that the Anti Corruption Team from Meerut has filed a case against Gulab Singh Rajput in Surajpur Kotwali under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. According to this lawsuit, a theft incident took place in 2019 at the under-construction KMR Mall located in Ecotech Police Station-1 area.
While registering a case of theft by the mall management, suspicion was expressed on Rajeev Sardana, a retired Navy Commander living in Greater Noida. In this case, after police investigation, the final report had been submitted twice, but on September 30, 2022, the investigation was started once again on the orders of the court. During this, SI Gulab Singh was doing this investigation.
