Haridwar:Haridwar Police arrested the accused from South Indian state of Kerala for defrauding about Rs 40 lakh in the name of arranging Haj pilgrimage and threatening to kill if he asked for the return.
On receiving the complaint regarding the matter, a case was registered against the accused Shahjamal, Syed Arif and Shamanand Vavu under relevant sections at Kotwali Jwalapur on 24 November 2020. Even after the court issued an arrest warrant, the accused, a resident of Kerala, continued absconding. Kotwali Jwalapur police finally achieved success by making continuous efforts in search of accused Shamanand Vavu among the three accused of embezzling a total of ₹ 3949000/- in the name of going for Haj pilgrimage. This will help the victims of fraud to get justice.
