On the written complaint of Ahsan, a resident of Piran Kaliyar, Haridwar, an IPC was registered against unknown thieves under the relevant sections of the police station Kaliyar in connection with the theft of an e-rickshaw from Punjab National Bank in Kaliyar area.

On the instructions of SSP Pramendra Dobal, who is serious about two-wheeler, e-rickshaw and other thefts in the district, a team was formed for early disclosure of vehicle theft cases registered in Kaliar police station.
On the basis of inputs received during the investigation, the teams formed were sent to Meerut district of neighboring state Uttar Pradesh. On the information received by the team and information from the informer, success was achieved in arresting the suspect in the case, Babu son of Noora, resident of Shahjahan Colony, police station Lisadi Gate, Meerut Hall, Vipin, resident of Brick Kiln, town Sardhana, town Sardhana, Sardhana Meerut, from town Sardhana area, Kaland.
Two other members of the gang were found absconding and a serious search is going on. On the basis of interrogation of the above mentioned suspect, 03 e-rickshaws were recovered.

On matching the recovered e-rickshaw, one e-rickshaw was found to be related to the case registered at Kaliar police station. Information about theft of other two e-rickshaws has been received from Moradabad.
During interrogation, it was revealed that in order to earn quick money, the accused, along with his associates, first booked an e-rickshaw and then made the driver of the booked vehicle unconscious by mixing intoxicants in tea biscuits and took him in the e-rickshaw.

Suspects who came to Kaliar during Urs fair, took stolen e-rickshaw on rent to Roorkee in the registered case.
And on the way, they fed the driver with intoxicating biscuits, made him fall on the roadside and drove away with the e-rickshaw. The investigators have increased the charges in the case. Preliminary information has also been received from the districts of Moradabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar etc. that the arrested suspect has been jailed for theft and other crimes, information regarding which is being sought. A vigorous search is going on for the other two absconding accused.
