In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, DGP held a meeting with district in-charges and gave guidelines.

Haridwar:In view of the safe conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, 2024, Abhinav Kumar, Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, today called a meeting with the area in-charges and all the district in-charges through video conference at the police headquarters.
1. The guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India should be carefully observed and compliance with the instructions should be ensured in letter and spirit.

2. The police force management plan of the districts should be prepared immediately as per the standards set by the Election Commission of India.
3. The instructions issued by the Election Commission of India regarding licensed weapons and the provisions made in the Arms Act should be carefully observed and action should be taken accordingly.

4. Make full preparations on time for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, 2024. There should be no error of any kind at any level.
5. Critical Polling Stations should be determined by doing Vulnerability Mapping as per the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India.

6. The training of the police force engaged in election duty should be completed on time as per the manual.
7. Ensure whether the officers/employees have been transferred as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission or not and immediately relieve those personnel who have been transferred from their work in the concerned district/unit.

8. It should be ensured that the instructions issued by the Police Headquarters regarding keeping the seniority of the Inspector/Sub-Inspector in mind while appointing the station in-charge should be followed.
9. In future, those who hold protests/demonstrations etc. should be talked to and made aware of the need to protest peacefully. Legal action should be taken immediately as per rules against those blocking the road.

10. Error-free security arrangements should be ensured as per the security category given to VVIPs/VIPs coming to the state during elections.
11. In view of the elections, flawless security arrangements should be ensured in accordance with the security standards in the proposed rallies.

12. In view of the recent passing of the UCC bill in the state, the Chief Minister should take special care during the proposed tour programs in the districts of Uttarakhand and ensure flawless security arrangements and personnel should also be appointed in plain clothes.

Renuka Devi, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Crime and Law and Order. , Sukhbir Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Information and other officers were present.
