SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal, who is serious about drug trafficking, crimes against women, cyber crime and traffic management, organized an in-depth review meeting with all the gazetted and police station police officers of the district through video conferencing late at night some time ago.
During this, SSP Dobal adopted a tough stand and stressed on maximum utilization of police force by keeping all the officers alert in their respective police station areas and also directed the concerned to keep a close watch on the activities of criminals released on bail.
Talking about drug trafficking, the SSP said that catching as many drug smugglers as possible and public awareness is important. Emphasis was laid on organizing Chaupal every week in populated areas with the aim of making the public aware. During this, he gave the responsibility of supervision to SP City and SP Rural and instructed them to win the trust of the public through Chaupal in all police station areas and to curb drug smuggling.
Taking seriously the police officer’s bad behavior with the visitors who come to the police station with their complaints, the SSP strictly told the police officer to improve his behavior and behave decently with the visitors.
The problems of the complainants coming to the police station should be resolved at the police station level at all times and their entry must be made in the visitor register.
In case of any incident in the police station area at night, the night officer was given instructions to go to the spot in every case and after reaching the spot, he will inform the higher authorities about the actual situation.
The fact that the employees posted for patrolling picket duty at night were not taking their duty seriously was taken seriously and all the police station incharges were directed that all duty personnel should be thoroughly briefed before going on patrol and only then should they be sent.
Referring to the various accidents in the district, the increasing number of vehicles and the traffic jams caused by them, Mr. Dobal sought suggestions from the officers present and gave necessary directions while working hard to improve the traffic system of Haridwar and Roorkee city and gave the responsibility to CO Traffic to make a better action plan and give it a concrete shape.
After listening to the problems of the complainants coming to the police station or office, appropriate action should be taken immediately. Female personnel should be appointed to deal with the problems of female complainants etc.
