RAPE of a female hockey player: 16-year-old girl player had come to Haridwar to participate in the National Hockey Camp, coach arrested

HARIDWAR / Rape of a female hockey player: A 16-year-old female hockey player who had come to Haridwar Vandana Kataria Stadium to participate in the selection camp of the National Hockey Games was raped by her coach. After getting information about the incident, a case was registered against the coach by the family, after which the police took action and immediately arrested the coach. At the same time, after recording the statement of the victim, medical examination was done.

The incident took place at Vandana Kataria Hockey Stadium of Police Station Sidkul. It is being told that a selection camp was being organized here for the National Hockey Games. A 16-year-old hockey player from Dehradun district had also come to Haridwar to participate in the camp and was staying in a hotel in Haridwar for the last one month. It is alleged that coach Bhanu Prakash, son of Ravindra Kumar, resident of Ward No. 6 Tanakpur, Champawat, sexually exploited the hockey player.

Bhanu Prakash is said to be a male hockey coach. Police station Sidkul informed that after receiving the complaint on 5th January, a case was registered and the accused Bhanu Prakash was arrested. Also, the forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected important evidence which is being sent to FSL. Meanwhile, the victim has also been medically examined.
