Haridwar: Haridwar Police has arrested five accused from Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar for gang-raping a woman and her 6-year-old girl in Roorkee on the night of Friday, June 24. The car used in the incident has also been recovered from the accused. A reward of 50 thousand has been announced on this success of the police team.

On the day of the incident, the woman and her daughter were seated by a youth named Sonu on his bike to give a lift from Kaliyar. On the way, he took the woman to a secluded place and raped her. During this, four people traveling in the Alto car reached there, seeing that Sonu fled from there.
The occupants of the car forcibly made the woman and her daughter sit in the car and gang-raped her by taking her inside from the main road to the fields. Hearing the screams of the child, the woman tried to save her, after which the accused fled leaving the mother and daughter there.
The woman could name only one accused Sonu in connection with the incident. After this the police came to know about a white colored Alto car. Police arrested the accused within 6 days by making only these two evidences as weapons and uniting them night and day.
