Haridwar: Till 18:00 hrs, about 15 lakh 5 thousand devotees took bath in the Ganges at various ghats, in view of the large number of baths going on in different ghats, this figure is likely to increase further.
Due to reducing the working hours of the policemen from 12 hours to 8 hours, the duty was done by the policemen with more enthusiasm and promptness and this initiative of Mr. Sr. Superintendent of Police was appreciated.

Due to overcrowding during this morning, District Magistrate Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Ajay Singh jointly inspected Har-ki-Paidi and several nearby ghats, giving necessary direction to the officers engaged in the arrangements on the spot. Along with giving instructions, “how to make this whole system better for the devotees in future” was discussed on which further work will be done in future.
