Haridwar: The Haridwar Police is constantly making efforts through various means to make the call made by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami to empower women under “Nari Shakti Utsav” on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri.
Along with teaching self-defense techniques to women at different places of the district under “Nari Shakti Utsav”
Through the Haridwar Police Upwa, the women of the police family are being trained to manufacture pickles, marmalade, dhoop-incense sticks, handicrafts etc. and operate sewing machines, spice mills etc.
Self-defense techniques were first taught to girl students in the presence of SSP Haridwar Ajai Singh and CO Jwalapur Niharika Semwal by Team Gaura Shakti in the program organized at Police Line Roshanabad today. During this, about 150 children and school staff of Police Modern School were present. The trained Gaura Shakti team, after giving a demo of self-defense techniques, encouraged the girl students to try their hand and acquire skills.
