Haridwar/Bahadrabad:Let us tell you that New Year is about to come and people celebrate in their own way. Some people start the New Year with puja and there are some people who hold liquor parties, due to which liquor is easily available to such people. Smugglers who deliver liquor also become active during this time.
Similarly, a smuggler carrying a consignment of five boxes of country liquor on a motorcycle was caught red handed by the police, after which a case was registered against him under the Excise Act.
Instructions have been issued by SSP Pramendra Dobal to all police station and outpost in-charges regarding stopping drug smuggling and in-depth investigation of suspicious persons.
In order to comply with the instructions issued, the police station Bahadarabad, during checking, succeeded in arresting a person Rohit who was carrying five boxes of illegal liquor inside a tin box on a motorcycle Vicky near Patanjali flyover Shantarshah.
During interrogation, the liquor smuggler told that he was taking the liquor to sell it to the tourists coming to Haridwar on 31st December and earn more profits.
After taking possession of the recovered liquor and the vehicle, accused Rohit was taken into custody under Section 60/72 Excise Act and a case is being registered in the relevant sections at Bahadarabad police station.
