Haridwar: In order to make the upcoming Chardham Yatra in the state simple, accessible, pleasant and safe for the devotees and tourists, Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has given a deadline of two months to all the departments to completely prepare the necessary infrastructure on the yatra route. Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has given instructions to encourage online travel registration as much as possible for the convenience of common travelers.
In accordance with the vision and instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, with a view to make the upcoming Chardham Yatra in the state comfortable, accessible, pleasant and safe for the devotees and tourists, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has directed to completely prepare the necessary infrastructure on the Yatra route. All departments were given a deadline of two months.
The Chief Secretary has given the officials a deadline to complete the work of repairing roads, patches etc. by 15th April. Public Works Department informed that this year Rs 600 crore has been approved for works like road safety etc. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to make arrangements for rest rooms and cheap food for the convenience of drivers on the travel routes and to hand over the operation of these rest rooms to the local youth.
With a view to completely stop the incidents of online fraud in registration of heli services and to ensure strict monitoring of cyber criminals, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has issued a message of “*Booking of heli services only through IRCTC”*. Travel Registration Instructions have been given for wide publicity at the time and through various mediums. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to fully activate STF to seriously investigate the cases of fraud in heli services. In order to discourage the use of plastic bottles during the yatra, Chief Secretary Smt. Raturi has directed to implement the Buy Back Bottle initiative on the entire yatra route. Along with this, he has also given instructions to the drinking water department to install adequate number of water ATMs at various places.
Secretary Sachin Kurve, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Arvind Singh Hayanki, Dr. R Rajesh Kumar, Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari and other concerned officers and all the District Magistrates were present in the meeting through virtual medium.
