Haridwar Police Continues Action Against Drunk Driving; Licenses to be Cancelled, 45 Drivers Fined on the Spot

Haridwar Police has intensified action against drunk driving and other traffic violations, continuing its strict drive to ensure road safety. During the campaign, 45 drivers were fined on the spot, and a total compounding fee of ₹24,500 was collected.
As per the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Haridwar, strict enforcement is being carried out against drunk driving, overspeeding, no-entry violations, wrong-side driving, rash driving, stunt driving, and the use of pressure horns to prevent road accidents.
In compliance with these instructions, under the leadership of SHO Kotwali Nagar Haridwar, checking teams were deployed at Chandighat Chowk, Brahmpuri Tiraha, and the Roadways Bus Stand. The checking operation continued late into the night.
During the campaign, 11 persons were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for driving under the influence of alcohol. A total of 11 vehicles, including 2 cars, 2 e-rickshaws, and 7 motorcycles, were seized.
The process of cancelling the driving licenses of the offenders is underway. The Haridwar Police has confirmed that this campaign will continue in the coming days to curb road accidents and unsafe driving practices.
