SIDCUL Police Crack Down on Public Drinking, 24 Youths Fined, 15 Vehicles Seized

Haridwar: Acting on the directives of SSP Haridwar, the SIDCUL police launched a strict drive against those consuming alcohol and creating nuisance at public places, roadside eateries, and streets. During the campaign, police teams apprehended 24 individuals and issued challans against them under Section 81 of the Police Act. A total of ₹6,000 was collected as compounding fees.
In addition, 15 vehicles were seized during the checking drive. Police officials issued a clear warning that no person should consume liquor in public places or encourage others to do so; otherwise, strict action will continue.
The objective of this campaign is to curb antisocial elements and strengthen law and order. Police further stated that such operations will be carried out regularly in the future as well.
The SIDCUL police team played a crucial role in this action. The team included Sub-Inspector Mahipal Saini, Sub-Inspector Anil Bisht, Woman Sub-Inspector Meenakshi Bisht, along with night and day Chetak personnel.
