Major Police Action in SIDCUL-Haridwar: 35 People Arrested for Drinking in Public Places and Roadside Dhabas

Haridwar, SIDCUL – In a major operation, SIDCUL Police have arrested 35 individuals for consuming alcohol in public areas and at roadside eateries. The police action was taken following directives from SSP Haridwar, emphasizing strict enforcement against public drinking and unruly behavior.
According to police officials, during the drive, several young men were found consuming alcohol openly at public places and dhabas, creating public nuisance. Acting swiftly, the SIDCUL police detained 35 persons and registered cases against them under Section 81 of the Police Act, imposing a compounding fine of ₹8,750 in total.
Additionally, five vehicles were seized during the checking operation for violations related to the act. Police have also warned all offenders not to repeat such behavior in the future, emphasizing that consuming or serving alcohol at public places is strictly prohibited.
The police confirmed that such checking and enforcement drives will continue to ensure law and order in the area.
