Strict action by SIDCUL Police busts vehicle theft gang; major breakthrough by Haridwar Police, two notorious thieves arrested

SIDCUL / It is reported that five stolen vehicles have been recovered from a hideout located behind the Munjal Showa Company in the SIDCUL industrial area of Haridwar. With the help of crime pattern analysis, the police appear to have put a brake on a series of theft incidents. Haridwar Police have exposed the continuous incidents of two-wheeler theft in the SIDCUL area and arrested two notorious vehicle thieves. Based on the possession and identification provided by the accused, the police recovered five stolen two-wheelers. This action has exposed an active vehicle theft gang operating in the area.
Over the past several days, repeated incidents of two-wheeler theft were being reported from the SIDCUL area. Taking these incidents seriously, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haridwar, Pramendra Singh Dobal, expressed strong displeasure and directed the police to effectively curb the thefts and ensure the swift arrest of the accused. Following these instructions, the SIDCUL police team closely inspected all crime scenes, analyzed suspicious activities, and prepared a crime graph. They also questioned local residents and gathered important clues.
As a result of continuous efforts, on February 8, 2026, acting on confidential information, the police team detained two suspicious youths during a checking operation near Dawa Chowk, SIDCUL. During interrogation, they were identified as Ayush, son of Gangaram, and Rohit, son of Shivram. A search led to the recovery of a two-wheeler stolen from Denso Chowk. During detailed questioning, the accused confessed to stealing four more vehicles and hiding them behind the Munjal Showa Company. Based on their identification, the police recovered three motorcycles and one scooter from the spot. Two of the recovered vehicles have already been confirmed to be linked to previously registered cases, while legal action is being taken regarding the remaining vehicles.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ayush, son of Gangaram, resident of Begumpur Sadi alias Rampur, Kotwali Bijnor Police Station, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Begumpur under Bahadrabad Police Station, district Haridwar (age 21), and Rohit, son of Shivram, resident of village Dahlawala, Rehar Police Station, district Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Begumpur under Bahadrabad Police Station, district Haridwar (age 19).
The police have arrested both accused and initiated proceedings to present them before the court. According to the police, further interrogation may lead to the disclosure of additional theft cases.
Police Team: This successful operation was carried out under the leadership of SIDCUL Police Station In-charge Nitesh Sharma. Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar Saini, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Chauhan, Head Constable Jitendra Malik, Head Constable Sanjay Singh, Constable Rohit Kumar, Constable Jitendra Tomar, Constable Arvind Kumar, and Constable Mukesh Kumar played important roles in the operation.
