Haridwar: People working and residing in Uttarakhand from outside states will now have to submit an affidavit regarding whether their documents are correct or not, along with giving only general details in the verification format. Along with this, the verification report/character certificate report of their native place brought with them by the person concerned will also have to be submitted. All these documents will have to be presented by them to the local police station through the landlord / manager / owner. In relation to physical verification of persons working and residing in Uttarakhand from outside states, amendments have been made in the SOP issued earlier. According to which legal action will be taken against those who violate the above prescribed procedure under section 83 of the Uttarakhand Police Act 2007. Along with this, legal action will be taken by registering a case against the person presenting forged documents or false affidavit in connection with the verification.
Shri Ashok Kumar IPS, DGP Sir said that on certain verification forms sent to outside states, verification reports are not being received from the concerned outstation/police station, due to which the documents submitted by the person to the police are not verified. With this amendment, the verification process will be made stricter and action will be taken by keeping an eye on suspicious people.
