“The Dhami government is going to enact a strict anti-copying law in Uttarakhand after paper leak.”

THE POLICE TODAY/NEWS

Haridwar: The Dhami government is no doubt going to enact a strict anti-copying law, but the draft of the law has been stuck on heavy fines and life imprisonment for the past six months. After the announcement of CM Dhami to implement this law soon, now the files are running rapidly between the departments in the government.
The Subordinate Services Selection Commission had sent a proposal to the government in July to enact a strict anti-copying law after the papers of graduate level and other recruitments were leaked. Considering the proposal, the government made preparations to implement the law for all the commissions. For this, the Personnel Department started preparing the draft.

The Personnel Department is studying the laws of several states to implement the country’s strictest anti-copying law in Uttarakhand. The Law Department is also being consulted on the draft.

Some departments objected that the fine of Rs 10 crore on a particular person or a small organization is too high. Certainly the government wants to bring strict laws to create fear among the copycat mafia, but some amendments can be made in the amount of the fine.Similarly, some officers are expressing reservations about life imprisonment as well. He says that instead of life imprisonment, more provisions of punishment can also be kept. Although the government is insisting on including life imprisonment prominently in the new law.

There will be amendment in the earlier draft
The draft of the anti-copying law that was prepared earlier had neither provision for life imprisonment nor attachment of property. Since it has been decided to bring the country’s strictest anti-copying law in the cabinet meeting, the old draft is now being amended accordingly.
