Major Action by Shyampur Police: 11 Miscreants Apprehended Under ‘Operation LAGAM’

HARIDWAR / Under the special campaign “Operation Lagam” launched by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar, to prevent crime, arrest criminals, and maintain law and order in the district, Shyampur Police received a report via Dial 112 Haridwar that a dispute over land possession was taking place near Amatra Hotel in Village Shyampur.
Acting promptly on the information, the local police were dispatched to the scene, where around 11 individuals were found engaged in a fight. Upon investigation, it was found that none of these individuals were actually involved in the land dispute. This clearly indicated their intention to disturb the peace and harmony of the village.
Despite multiple efforts by the police to calm the situation, the individuals did not comply. Considering the risk of breach of peace, all accused were informed of their offense, arrested on the spot, and sent for medical examination. They were then formally charged under Section 170 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and presented before the Hon’ble Court.
