KAWAD NEWS / In view of the upcoming Kanwar Mela, the Haridwar police administration is alert and fully prepared. A special meeting was held today by Shyampur Police at the police station premises to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Kanwar pilgrimage. The meeting included Special Police Officers (SPOs), hotel, dhaba, and restaurant owners, as well as other respected individuals of the area.
During the meeting, Station House Officer (SHO) Nitesh Sharma briefed the attendees about the directives and instructions received from senior officials. He also listened to the suggestions and concerns of the respected local citizens.
The SHO emphasized that the Kanwar Mela is a massive religious event and ensuring peace, security, and orderly management is the top priority of the police. To maintain law and order and a morally sound atmosphere, a complete ban will be imposed on the sale of meat, alcohol, and narcotics during the Kanwar Yatra. Respectful behavior towards devotees must be ensured, and close surveillance will be maintained on anti-social and communal elements.
SHO Nitesh Sharma further instructed all hotel, dhaba, cart (theli), and stall operators to mandatorily conduct police verification of all their staff. Additionally, cleanliness in hotels and eateries, display of fixed rate lists, and accurate record-keeping of customer details will be compulsory. Strict compliance with all regulations was strongly advised.
All operators must ensure their staff is police-verified, and maintain proper hygiene, clearly display the approved rate lists, and keep accurate records of all customers. These measures are essential for the smooth and safe conduct of the Kanwar Mela.
