Fake Shampoo Factory Busted in Sidcul, ₹15 Lakh Worth Goods Seized, Three Arrested – Who Are These People Running the Racket on Such a Large Scale?

Haridwar Sidcul. Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to crack down on illegal factories, Haridwar Police achieved a major success. The Sidcul police busted a fake shampoo manufacturing unit operating out of a house in Gangotri Enclave Phase-3 near Denso Chowk. During the raid, counterfeit shampoo worth nearly ₹15 lakh, along with a large quantity of packaging material, was recovered. Three accused – Haseen, Mohsin, and Shahban – were arrested on the spot, while another suspect managed to flee.
According to police, they had received information that counterfeit shampoos of Hindustan Unilever brands were being manufactured inside the premises. On raiding the location, police found thousands of duplicate packets of Clinic Plus and Sunsilk shampoos. A shampoo-filling machine, over 1,350 liters of raw material, 32 cartons of filled counterfeit products, 800 empty bottles, and a huge stock of duplicate labels were also seized.
Drug Inspector Hari Singh and Hindustan Unilever’s legal manager were called to the site. During interrogation, accused Haseen failed to produce any valid drug or cosmetic license, records, or permits for manufacturing or selling the products.
The arrested trio has been booked under the Copyright Act and other relevant sections. Police have launched a manhunt for the absconding suspect.
