Sidcul Police Strike Major Blow to Drug Traffickers; Absconding Accused Arrested with Illegal Smack Worth Lakhs

Haridwar: Under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar, the Sidcul Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the ongoing special campaign against drug traffickers. Police arrested an accused who had been absconding in an NDPS case and recovered 20.10 grams of illegal smack from his possession. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth several lakhs in the market.
Acting on instructions from Sidcul Police Station in-charge Nitesh Sharma, special police teams were maintaining strict surveillance on drug peddlers active in the region. On 18/11/25, based on a reliable tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at Dawa Chowk in the Sidcul area and arrested the accused, Sawez, son of Mohammad Irfan, a resident of Masjid Mohalla, Bahadrabad.
From his possession, 20.10 grams of illegal smack were recovered. A case has been registered against the accused at Sidcul Police Station under Crime Number 581/25, Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, and further legal proceedings are underway. According to the police, the accused will be produced before the Hon’ble Court today.
