First-ever National Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Championship held in Uttarakhand, over 350 players participate,A unique initiative to empower young women with self-defence and keep youth away from drugs

Haridwar:For the first time in Uttarakhand, a national-level Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport championship was organized. The three-day national championship was grandly hosted by the Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Association Uttarakhand at the Golden Tree Banquet Hall, SIDCUL, from December 21 to 23.
The main objective of the championship was to empower young women through self-defence and to keep youth away from social evils like drug abuse by encouraging them towards sports. Events such as Dual Discipline Fight and Self-Defence competitions were held during the championship.
Around 350 young men and women from various states across the country participated in this mega event. Through the competition, a strong message was conveyed to promote discipline, sportsmanship, self-confidence, and national unity among the players.
Organized under the aegis of the Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Federation of India, the championship familiarized players with international-level sporting standards. The event has given a new identity to sports and self-defence not only in Haridwar but across Uttarakhand.
On this occasion, Rakesh Limiye, National Senior Vice President of the Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Federation of India, said that such competitions are a powerful medium to guide youth in a positive direction.
State President Yogesh Sharma stated that the organization’s goal is to keep youth away from drugs by shaping them into athletes.
District President Arjun Pal described the event as a milestone for the future of the youth.
According to the organizers, this initiative will not only strengthen the safety of young women but will also play a significant role in giving Uttarakhand a national identity in the field of sports.
