Joint Operation by Uttarakhand–UP Police Ahead of Kanwar Yatra, Notices Issued to DJ Operators, Strict measures on religious decorum and sound regulations; complete ban on provocative songs

In view of the upcoming Kanwar Yatra during the month of Sawan, the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a joint intensive checking campaign in the border areas. The objective of this operation was to maintain peace and order during the pilgrimage and to regulate the use of DJ sound systems.
The campaign was jointly led by Narsan Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector Hemdutt Bhardwaj (Kotwali Manglaur) and Purquazi Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Jaiveer Singh. Special attention was given to locations where large DJ setups were being installed.
Police officials issued notices to DJ operators with the following clear directives:
DJ sound systems must conform to prescribed size and standards.
Only religious and devotional music is permitted.
Strict ban on caste-based, objectionable, or provocative songs.
Officials stated that any violation of these rules would lead to strict legal action. In addition, all organizers were urged to cooperate with the administration in maintaining the sanctity of the Yatra and promoting social harmony.
