Indian Media Press Council Pays Glowing Tribute to the Nation’s Martyrs on Independence Day

Haridwar, August 15 – On the auspicious occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Indian Media Press Council (Regd.) paid heartfelt homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom. The event began with the unfurling of the national flag by the Council’s Founder and President, Amit Kumar Mongolia, followed by a salute to the tricolor. Dhanakshi Verma led the gathering in singing the National Anthem.
In his address, President Amit Kumar Mongolia recalled the supreme sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters, mothers who gave their sons, and sisters who gave their husbands for the country’s independence. “The Indian Media Press Council bows repeatedly to such patriotism and offers heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of our motherland,” he said.
Vice President Mohan Raja emphasized the role of journalists in India’s freedom struggle, noting that the pen played an equally powerful role alongside the sword in securing independence.
The ceremony also saw participation from General Secretary Manisha Suri, Treasurer Rajesh Kumar Verma, Executive Member Rajendra Jindal, Core Member Rakesh Verma, and Piyush Suri, who all offered floral tributes to the national flag.
Among others present in support were Prem Pradhan, Satpal Singh, Dhanakshi Verma, Dev, Ashish Verma, Keshav, and Sumit Verma. The atmosphere was filled with patriotic fervor as attendees pledged their respect and gratitude to the heroes of the nation.
